  • Off-leash: 24 hours a day, every day
  • Description: Established in 1972, this historic beach welcomes all breeds and sizes, offering a wide, sandy area for pups to play and swim. It's one of the most popular off-leash dog beaches in San Diego, with no hourly restrictions. Expert surfers also enjoy a popular surf break here.

Fiesta Island- Mission Bay

  • Location: Mission Bay Park
  • Hours: Daily 6:00 AM - 10:00 PM
  • Description: A serene area with calmer waters than the ocean, ideal for dogs to run on sand dunes. Dogs are allowed in all areas except for the Youth Campground and Least Tern nesting sites.
  • Good to know info: 
    1. Off-leash areas cover most of the beach, excluding the Youth Campground and endangered least tern bird nesting sites.

    3. Plenty of space for dogs to run around.

    5. Note: There aren't public facilities like restrooms on Fiesta Island, so bring water for your dog.

    North Beach Dog Run - Coronado

    • Location: Ocean Blvd. near Sunset Park
    • Off-leash: 24 hours a day, every day
    • Description: Situated at the northern end of the beach next to the U.S. Naval Station entrance, this beach has a designated off-leash area with a foot shower and free dog litter bags at the entrance.

  • Location: Carlsbad Village Drive
  • Description: A 13,200 square feet fenced park offering benches, a dog drinking fountain, plastic bag dispensers, and parking.
